Lanthorn Clinic – Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology Services

1.1 Lanthorn Clinic (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a private diagnostic and interventional ultrasound clinic based in London.
1.2 We are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and all clinical services are delivered by consultant radiologists.
1.3 These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) set out the basis on which you may:
- Use our website (www.lanthornclinic.com).
- Book appointments via our Semble portal.
- Access clinical services at our clinic.
1.4 By using our website, booking an appointment, or attending the clinic, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2.1 Our services are available to adults aged 18 and over. Minors may only be seen with a parent or legal guardian present and with prior agreement.
2.2 Services are provided on a self-pay basis. We do not accept NHS referrals or insurance-based direct billing unless explicitly agreed via referral.
2.3 We may require you to provide medical history or documentation before your appointment. Failure to provide accurate information may result in cancellation of your appointment.
2.4 We reserve the right to decline, suspend, or withdraw services where:
- It would be clinically unsafe or inappropriate to proceed.
- You have not complied with these Terms.
- Payment terms have not been met.
2.5 If any payment due under these Terms is not received within 14 days of the due date, we reserve the right to charge a debt recovery fee in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. This fee, along with any statutory interest and reasonable costs incurred in recovering the debt, will be added to the outstanding amount and must be paid in full.
2.6 If payment remains outstanding after receipt of an overdue invoice, we reserve the right to pursue recovery through the Small Claims Court. Any costs incurred as a result, including court fees, legal fees, and other reasonable expenses, will be added to the outstanding amount and must be paid in full.
3.1 The website is for general informational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice or diagnosis.
3.2 We make reasonable efforts to ensure information on the website is accurate but make no guarantees as to accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose.
3.3 You agree not to misuse the website, including (but not limited to):
- Attempting unauthorised access.
- Uploading or transmitting viruses, malware, or harmful code.
- Copying or distributing content without written permission.
3.4 Intellectual property rights in the website content (text, images, branding, and design) belong to Lanthorn Clinic or are licensed to us. You may not reproduce or use content without prior written consent.
4.1 Appointments can be booked through our Semble booking portal or by contacting the clinic directly.
4.2 A deposit is payable at the time of booking to secure your appointment.
4.3 The final balance must be paid either:
- By debit or credit card in person at the clinic on the day of your appointment; or
- By invoice, if agreed in advance.
4.4 We do not accept cash payments.
4.5 If the final balance is not paid, services will not be delivered and your deposit will be forfeited.
4.6 Prices for services are published on our website and/or booking portal and may be changed at any time.
4.7 Promotions cannot be combined with any other offers, discounts, or codes unless specified otherwise (EXAMPLE: £100 off offer cannot be applied to an existing promotional offer such as a reduced testicular ultrasound scan price for men's health month).
5.1 Cancellations with more than 24 hours’ notice – Your deposit will be refunded.
5.2 Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice – The deposit fee will not be refunded.
5.3 Failure to attend (no-show) – If you do not attend your appointment, your deposit fee will not be refunded .
5.4 Late arrivals – If you are more than 15 minutes late without contacting the clinic, we may be unable to carry out your scan at the original time. We will endeavour to accommodate you on the day, however we may need to rebook your appointment for a different day. If you choose not to rebook your appointment, your deposit will not be refunded.
5.5 Clinic cancellations – If we must cancel your appointment (e.g. clinician illness, technical failure), you may choose either:
- A rescheduled appointment; or
- A full refund of all monies paid (including deposit).
5.6 Refund process – Refunds are made to the original payment method within 5–10 working days.
5.7 Rebooking after cancellation or no-show – We reserve the right to request full payment upfront for patients who cancel late or fail to attend on more than one occasion.
6.1 You must:
- Provide accurate and complete personal and medical information.
- Inform us of any health changes relevant to your appointment.
- Follow pre-scan and post-scan instructions given by clinicians.
- Attend appointments on time.
6.2 You may not record consultations, procedures, or staff without prior consent.
6.3 You agree to behave respectfully towards staff and other patients. Abusive, threatening, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in refusal of service. If behaviour continues to be abusive, threatening or disruptive we may have to refer to the local authorities.
7.1 We comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
7.2 Personal and medical information will be collected, stored, and processed solely for the purposes of delivering clinical care and managing services.
7.3 We will not share your information with third parties except where:
i) necessary for clinical service delivery (e.g. laboratories, external imaging partners);
ii) required by law or regulation; or
iii) with your explicit consent.
8.1 Ultrasound scans are highly effective diagnostic tools, but no test is 100% conclusive. Further investigations may be required.
8.2 Our radiologists will explain any findings and, where appropriate, advise further medical care. It is your responsibility to follow up with your GP or specialist if recommended.
8.3 We are not responsible for delays in treatment or care arising from your failure to act on medical advice.
8.4 We are not responsible for any injury or illness that arises after your appointment.
8.5 While we endeavour to return reports for your scans within 24 hours, certain imaging can take longer.

9.1 Lanthorn Clinic provides ultrasound services directly. For MRI, CT, and X-ray services, we may refer you to external partner organisations.
9.2 We select external partners carefully and only engage those meeting appropriate regulatory and clinical standards.
9.3 Services delivered by external partners are subject to their own terms and conditions, including pricing, clinical standards, and reporting.
9.4 Lanthorn Clinic is not liable for acts, omissions, or errors by external providers, except where required by law.
9.5 By accepting referral, you agree that Lanthorn Clinic may share relevant clinical information with the external partner to facilitate continuity of care.
10.1 We provide services with reasonable skill and care.
10.2 To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of our website, booking system, or services.
10.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
11.1 By submitting referral letters the referring clinician confirms the correct details have been provided.
11.2 The referring clinician confirms they have discussed the examination and any intervention where appropriate with the patient/guardian.
11.3 The referring clinician has taken into account the possibility of pregnancy.
11.4 The referring clinician agrees they have given sufficient clinical information for the request to be justified according to IR(ME)R 2017.
11.5 The referring clinician agrees they have completed all mandatory fields according to IR(ME)R 2017.
12.1 We operate a complaints process in compliance with CQC requirements.

12.4 If you remain dissatisfied, you may escalate your complaint to the Care Quality Commission or the relevant professional regulator.

13.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
13.2 Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
