Preparing for your Blood Test

Some blood tests require specific preparation - please check the table below for details.

For all blood tests, staying well hydrated is important, as drinking water makes blood collection easier. On the day of your appointment, wear a loose-fitting top so your arm is easily accessible.

Viewing your results

Your results will be available on a web portal which will be shared with you via email. You can also view them on the Forth app.

Advanced Cholesterol Test Schedule your blood test in the morning, ideally within 3 hours of waking.

If you take non-prescription iron supplements, avoid these for 24 hours before your appointment as this can affect results.
Bone & Muscle Health Test Schedule your blood test in the morning, ideally within 3 hours of waking.
Female Fertility Test Schedule your blood test on DAY 21 of your cycle if you have regular periods (day 1 = first day of your period). Otherwise, you can book anytime.
Female Hormones Test Schedule your blood test on DAY 3 of your cycle if you have regular periods (day 1 = first day of your period). Otherwise, you can book anytime.
Heart Health Test Schedule your blood test in the morning, ideally within 3 hours of waking.
Fast for your appointment, ideally overnight.
Liver & Kidney Function Test Limit alcohol consumption for 3-4 days before your test.
Male Hormones Test Schedule your blood test in the morning, ideally within 3 hours of waking.
Menopause Test Schedule your blood test in the morning, ideally within 3 hours of waking.
If you still have periods, aim to book your test for DAY 3 of your cycle (day 1 = first day of your period). Otherwise, you can book anytime.
PCOS Test Schedule your blood test in the morning, ideally within 3 hours of waking.
Schedule your blood test between DAY 1-5 of your cycle if you have regular periods (day 1 = first day of your period). Otherwise, you can book anytime.
Thyroid Health Test Reschedule your blood test if you are unwell as this can affect results.
Ultimate Health Check Schedule your blood test in the morning, ideally within 3 hours of waking.
