Thoracic imaging across the full spectrum of lung pathology, with focus on complex thoracic procedures. Additional expertise in cardiac CT for cardiovascular risk assessment, and carotid artery Doppler imaging.  

Experience
Dr Samir Mahboobani is a Consultant Thoracic Radiologist with over a decade of experience in clinical radiology.

He studied medicine at Imperial College London, graduating with multiple distinctions, and completed his radiology training at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. He undertook an additional registrar post at the Royal Brompton Hospital, the largest specialist heart and lung centre in the UK, followed by a fellowship jointly between Imperial and the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust focused on complex thoracic interventions. He now works as a Consultant Radiologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and across multiple private hospitals in London. 

Dr Mahboobani has led one of the UK’s largest radiology training programmes as Training Programme Director at Imperial and now serves as Head of Training for cardiothoracic radiology. He lectures nationally on tuberculosis imaging and teaches lung cancer imaging on the Oncology MSc programme at the Institute of Cancer Research. 

He remains actively involved in collaborative research projects across London, and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients and colleagues alike feel supported when navigating complex diagnoses.
