Who needs a blood test?
There are often different reasons people need blood tests. It may be for monitoring an ongoing concern, checking levels such as iron to see if there are any deficiencies needing treated or even just overall health checks for peace of mind.
How long does a blood test take?
A blood test usually only takes about 10-15 minutes from arrival to get your sample.
How long until I get my results?
Certain tests take longer.
If you are just wanting the results for something basic like a full blood count, we can sometimes get your results back within 24-48 hours.
For more advanced checks they may take longer due to the time it takes process the lab and more interpretation.
Do I get a report on what the results mean?
Most of our blood tests come with a report from a GP, but some may require further investigation and discussion with a doctor.
What happens if my blood tests show something is wrong?
We have in-house consultants who check all blood tests before they are released.
If there is something requiring further investigation, we can offer scans and other services which can help bring clarity to your concerns.
If there is an urgent finding, we will call you immediately and recommend if you need any urgent assistance.
If you are feeling unwell and in need of care, phone 111 or go to A&E if you are having any severe symptoms.
Are the blood tests available as part of any other assessments?
Yes. You can book a blood test for any of your scans such as liver function with an abdominal scan, or thyroid function with a neck scan.
