Runner’s knee (patellofemoral pain syndrome) causes pain at the front of the knee, often made worse by running, stairs, or sitting for long periods.
A steroid injection may reduce inflammation and relieve pain when other treatments have not worked.

The skin is thoroughly cleaned, and a local anaesthetic is first injected to numb the area. The needle is then guided to the target area under ultrasound guidance for accuracy. Once the correct position is confirmed, the steroid is administered. The procedure typically takes just a few minutes and is generally very well tolerated.
