FAQs

What does this procedure involve?

The skin is thoroughly cleaned, and a local anaesthetic is first injected to numb the area. The needle is then guided into the cyst under ultrasound guidance for accuracy. Once the correct position is confirmed, the fluid is drained. In some cases, a small steroid dose is administered. The procedure typically takes just a few minutes and is generally very well tolerated

What are the symptoms of ganglion cyst?

A firm, sometimes tender lump near a joint or tendon. It may fluctuate in size and can limit movement.

How can a steroid injection help?

Steroid reduces inflammation in the cyst wall, lowering the chance of recurrence.
