Ideally, book for your sample collection in the morning, before food.
All samples are analysed in accredited NHS laboratories and reviewed by GMC registered doctors for accurate, personalised insights into your health.
This test includes:
Check in at our clinic for your selected appointment date and time. One of our clinicians will take you through a few basic checks, before taking a blood sample from a vein in your arm. The whole process shouldn't take more than 15 minutes.
Afterwards, we'll bring you out to our waiting area, and you are welcome to enjoy a tea or coffee before going about your day. We will send your sample for analysis.
For the most accurate results, schedule your blood test in the morning, ideally within three hours of waking, and fast for 4-6 hours before your test. We can still complete your blood test if you book outside this window, but it may affect your results.
Please fast for 4-6 hours before your blood test. If you usually take non-prescription iron supplements, please avoid them for 24 hours before your test, as they can affect your results.
Drinking water is encouraged. Staying well hydrated helps make the blood collection easier. On the day of your appointment, wear a loose-fitting top so your arm is easily accessible.
After booking, you will receive a pre-appointment questionnaire via email - please complete it before attending your appointment.
Active B12: Measures vitamin B12 status; low levels can cause fatigue, weakness, or neurological symptoms.
Corrected Calcium: Essential for healthy bones, muscles, and nerve function; imbalances may contribute to fatigue or muscle issues.
Ferritin: Indicates your body’s iron stores; low ferritin is a key sign of iron deficiency anaemia.
Folate: A B vitamin needed for red blood cell production; deficiency can lead to anaemia and low energy.
Haemoglobin: Measures the oxygen-carrying protein in red blood cells; low levels indicate anaemia.
Magnesium: Supports energy production, muscle function, and nerve health; low levels can mimic anaemia symptoms.
Platelet Count: Reflects blood clotting ability; abnormal levels can signal underlying blood disorders.
Red Blood Cell Count (RBC): Shows the number of red blood cells; low counts may indicate anaemia.
Vitamin D (25 OH): Important for bone and muscle health; deficiency can contribute to fatigue and weakness.
White Blood Cell Count (WBC): Indicates immune system health; abnormalities may point to infection or other blood-related conditions.
