Personalised Performance & Recovery

Focused insight for muscles, joints, and movement.

Training hard, staying active, or living with ongoing aches and pains often means pushing through discomfort without fully understanding what’s going on beneath the surface. When symptoms linger or performance stalls, targeted insight can make all the difference.

Our Personalised Performance & Recovery Package is designed for athletes and active individuals with long-standing or recurring pain, offering a tailored assessment focused on the areas that matter most to you. The package includes specialist-reported MRI scans of two chosen body areas, combined with a targeted blood panel to assess inflammation, muscle recovery, and overall physical health.

Your Personalised Package

Initial Consultation

This package begins with a short pre-appointment consultation to help us understand more about you, including:

- Your current health and lifestyle
- Any symptoms or concerns
- Your past medical history
- The body areas you would like assessed

Advanced Imaging Session

We'll then book you in at our partner imaging centre for detailed MRI imaging of your 2 chosen areas. You can choose from:

- Neck (cervical spine)
- Shoulder
- Elbow
- Hand & wrist
- Hip
- Knee
- Foot & ankle
- Lower back (lumbar spine)

Your selections will be confirmed during your initial consultation. Please note that each scan is unilateral, meaning both sides of the same joint (for example, both shoulders) would count as two separate areas.

In-Clinic Tests

When your scans are complete, make your way to our Farringdon clinic for your blood tests, choosing either:

- Sports performance blood test
- Advanced health check for comprehensive wellbeing assessment
- Rheumatology profile (additional £150)

We will also do a Body Composition Analysis via our in-clinic Hume Pod, providing key information about bone & muscle mass, and body fat analysis.

Follow-up & Next Steps

Your MRI scans will be reviewed by one of our specialist consultant radiologists. Once all results are available, you will receive:

- Your full imaging report
- A follow-up consultation with one of our radiologists to discuss any image findings (in person or online).
- You blood test results & report into the Forth app.

+ Optional Add-on: Reduced rates for our range of muscle, joint, and tendon treatments, including steroid injections, hyaluronic acid injections, hydrodistensions, and PRP.

Your Performance & Recovery Package
What We Check For

We believe that direct access to advanced imaging empowers our patients to take control of their health with clarity and confidence. That’s why we start with detailed MRI imaging of your selected body areas, to get to the bottom of any muscle, joint, and tendon problems, and then connect you with our partner physiotherapist after your complete diagnostic assessment, helping you move forward informed and supported.

MRI Scans (Your selected areas) MRI provides detailed, high-resolution images of joints, muscles, bones, and soft tissues, helping identify the underlying causes of pain, weakness, or reduced performance. Depending on the area scanned, MRI can help show:

- Muscle, tendon, or ligament injuries
- Joint damage, cartilage wear, or labral tears
- Stress reactions or stress fractures
- Inflammation, fluid build-up, or impingement
- Degenerative changes contributing to long-standing pain

Your radiology consultant will discuss any unique needs at your initial consultation.
Blood Test Your blood testing provides insight into how your body is coping with training, recovery, and day-to-day stress. You can choose from sport-specific panels, which include key biomarkers investigating:

- Energy & Metabolic Function - incl. iron, ferritin, urea & creatinine
- Recovery & Muscle Stress -
incl. cortisol & CRP
- Hormonal & Endocrine Balance
- incl. thyroid hormones & testosterone
- Nutrition & Micronutrients
- incl. magnesium & Vitamin D
(varies by specific package chosen)

For a broader health assessment, you can also opt for ourAdvanced Health Check blood panel.
Body Composition Quick and non-invasive, the Hume Pod measures your body composition - including muscle, fat, and bone mass - giving you a clear snapshot of your overall physique and helping track progress alongside your spine and postural health.

When should I see a doctor about musculoskeletal problems?

Most aches and pains improve with time, rest, or simple treatment. However, you should seek medical advice urgently if you experience:

- Severe or worsening pain, especially after an injury or fall

- Sudden weakness, loss of movement, or inability to bear weight

- Numbness, tingling, or loss of sensation in an arm or leg

- Loss of bladder or bowel control, or numbness around the groin or buttocks

- Unexplained swelling, redness, or heat in a joint

- Fever, unexplained weight loss, or night pain alongside musculoskeletal symptoms

You should also consider seeing a doctor if pain or discomfort is persistent (lasting several weeks or more), keeps returning, or is affecting your sleep, daily activities, or training - even if it doesn’t feel urgent.
